Ding dong ditch

For Thanksgiving this year, we were super excited just to sit around and be lazy. The Sarge is working nights at the moment so on Wednesday, he finished his shift, slept for a few hours then got up to switch back to a normal sleep schedule. Since he had just gotten out of bed, he was lounging in his boxers on the couch. I had just taken a shower so I decided to sit down in my skundies and catch up on the last few minutes of Anderson Cooper. Lena Eva was swinging and smiling as usual; just being her happy self.

All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door and the dogs started going crazy like they do. Both the Sarge and I made a mad dash for the back bedroom hissing at the other one to go get the door. I tried knocking him out of the way figuring if I got to the bedroom first, he would lose and have to answer the door. Somehow he jumped the doggy gate (stupid long legs) and told me it was my friend Laura who was knocking. He had absolutely no clue if it was her or not but I guess he thought it sounded good. I threw a mini tantrum and kept running through the house looking for my bathrobe.

By the time I got back to the door, whoever was knocking was long gone. I think I saw the neighbor walking back to his yard but I can’t be sure. Lena Eva was still in her swing looking at me – probably thinking she has some seriously weird parents. We’re going to need to work on our antisocial tendencies before she gets much older or at the very least, teach her to answer the door for us!
